Money is like Oxygen
Money, while it is not everything, it is pretty close to oxygen on the list of “gotta have it.” “When it comes to average retirement savings statistics in America, the picture is fairly bleak.”[1] “The first thing to know is that the average American has nothing saved for retirement, or so little it won’t help. By far the most common retirement account has nothing in it.”[2] “Most Americans don’t have nearly enough saved for retirement. If you have big plans for retirement, it means sacrificing now. You’ll need to exchange instant rewards for a better later life.”[3] I have been working with individuals and their money since 2008 and the story of how to gain financial freedom and independence without sacrificing too much lifestyle in the future has not changed – YOU MUST SAVE THE MONEY! There is no get rich quick scheme. There is no network-marketing business that will […]

VLOG: Habits
Listen as I briefly explain my journey to corral my emotions such that I could execute behaviors that increased my happiness with regard to my physical health. “People do not decide their future. They decide their habits and their habits decide their future.” Kasandra Vitacca Mitchell

Habits
“People do not decide their future. They decide their habits and their habits decide their future.” “Your beliefs become your thoughts, Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny.” What we believe. What you believe, your “God-QuotientTM”, is the foundation of your life in the here and now. And, yet, what do you believe…really? From whom do you learn your beliefs? What do you ascribe as The Source of these foundational principles which guide everything you think, say, and do? While upwards of 96% of the world believes we are eternal spiritual beings having a finite human experience, far too many people will not pause long enough to sincerely consider The Source of their underlying beliefs, beliefs that shape everything in their world. The masses do not put in the time and the work required to objectively examine […]

VLOG: Annual Planning
In this month’s “A Few Minutes To Your Financial Freedom” is a quick 3-minute reminder and encouragement on annual planning.

Want Success?…Make a Plan!
The average adult attention span is 8 minutes. The average, healthy adult thinks 1500 thoughts a minute. For all our “advancements” and all our “progress,” research abounds to prove today’s adult is more stressed, less healthy, and certainly not happy. ….and, yet, you want me to believe you can keep yourself focused, get what you want out of life, and achieve your hopes and dreams without a written plan? You actually believe you can “think” your way to success and wealth? You confidently assert you have all the right information stored in your head in an organized fashion to lead to your own excellence? If you are a somewhat reasonable adult who has a modicum of self-honesty, you will admit it is impossible to keep track of all the great ideas you come up with on a daily basis. If your bravado has tempered some and you have a smidgen […]

VLOG: 3 Essential Attributes of Success
In this month’s “A Few Minutes To Your Financial Freedom” I highlight THE essential, foundational “MUSTS” if you desire success in ANY area of your life. Recorded over one year ago during a time when I hadn’t even considered writing a book. Shortly after this VLOG was recorded, “The Happiness Formula” book was birthed!

Traits of the Radically Successful
If you spend enough time reading books, research, articles, and blogs about the traits of the radically successful, you start to hear the same messages repeated. In scouring the pages of all these sources, I tracked words, phrases, and concepts to ascertain if there is a “main” list of traits worth sharing. I have deduced nine (9) traits of the radically successful. Because I also teach people how to create annual plans, I revel in how well these traits correspond to the annual plan/goals wheel I use as a tool. The radically successful are those who write out their annual plans and have someone hold them accountable on a monthly or even quarterly basis. The Radically Successful are: Future Oriented. Passionate; Committed; Hunger to Solve Problems; Irrational Level of Commitment; Have a Specific Focus; Optimism – you see and strive for a better future Spiritual: It is because they have […]

Sacred Sex
“You know we have been struggling for years. She has gone down this extreme route of spirituality and tells me I am not spiritual enough because I want it more than her. I guess if I were to go to prayers in the morning, she would find me worthy but even then, she tells me women who go through the change just don’t care anymore. Is that true?” He reached out to discuss his money considering I had been his wealth strategist for several years and the conversation suddenly took a sharp left turn. Ray had never alluded to any difficulties with his wife outside of their money struggles, so I was not totally sure what had caused him to open up with such raw honesty. “You are teaching about this stuff now, right? I talk to my guy friends, but I need a woman’s perspective.” Sex. Depending upon which […]

Sex Designed for So Much More than “Sex”
“Some balls are held for charity / And some for fancy dress / But when they’re held for pleasure / They’re the balls that I like best / My balls are always bouncing / To the left and to the right / It’s my belief that my big balls / Should be held every night” – “Big Balls” by AC/DC Big Balls AC/DC released “Big Balls” in 1976. I was in first grade and while I was not aware of words like satire, irony, and double entendre, the wit and creativity spoke to my young sense of humor and I would laugh when the song played. The next year a top sitcom, “Three’s Company,” aired and for eight seasons I was immersed in the world of flirtation and sexual innuendos. By 1979, the image of woman as an executive earning big bucks while caring for the family during the day […]

Leadership: A True Perspective
The older I get the more I resist the title of “leader.” I hesitate to apply it to myself and have a lot less “pride” when it is ascribed to me because I am much more acutely aware of what it REALLY means. I used to revel in the leadership positions assigned to me whether I wanted them or not. I used to think it was a great honor, a testament to “my” intellect, “my” ability, “my” excellence. Sigh! Today I know it is a “burden” far beyond my capabilities and, alas, even desires. The responsibility is not only too much for me, my intellect and ability – confession – I simply do not “care” enough to give to others in such a sacrificial way because, alas, to be the “greatest,” one must become the least. To be a leader is to be a servant and do I really need […]
