Traits of the Radically Successful
If you spend enough time reading books, research, articles, and blogs about the traits of the radically successful, you start to hear the same messages repeated. In scouring the pages of all these sources, I tracked words, phrases, and concepts to ascertain if there is a “main” list of traits worth sharing. I have deduced nine (9) traits of the radically successful.
Because I also teach people how to create annual plans, I revel in how well these traits correspond to the annual plan/goals wheel I use as a tool. The radically successful are those who write out their annual plans and have someone hold them accountable on a monthly or even quarterly basis.
The Radically Successful are:
Future Oriented.
Passionate; Committed; Hunger to Solve Problems; Irrational Level of Commitment; Have a Specific Focus; Optimism – you see and strive for a better future
- Spiritual: It is because they have faith, the radically successful can envision a future.
- GQ
Comfortable Being Uncomfortable.
Courageous; Willing to Push Outside Comfort Zone; Self-confidence – you trust yourself; Consistently Generate New Ideas; Extraordinarily Creative; Rule Breakers
- Spiritual: It is because they have faith, the
radically successful accept that while they may not always know the outcome,
they know it will be abundant.
- EQ/GQ
Organized for Change.
Prepared; Respond Instantly to change; details matter; do your homework!
- Familial/Communal: Because individuals are
involved in all aspects of our lives, the radically successful know you cannot
control what any one person does and so they organize their life and plan their
days with contingencies.
- IQ/EQ
Hard working.
Ambitious; Ferocious Drive to Do More; Work Hard; Drive – Determined to Work Harder than most
- Vocational: Regardless of their title, the
radically successful know that to work is to serve and they engage in their
daily “to-dos” with vigor.
- IQ/EQ
Lifelong Learners.
Continuous Learners; Constantly Get Better; Incredibly Curious and Eager to Learn; Never quit working on self
- Educational: The radically successful have great
confidence in what they know and are eager to learn more especially if a new
insight will correct an old way of thinking that does not serve themselves or
others well.
- IQ
Resilient and Persistent.
Willpower – consistent persistence in the face of resistance; Persistent Through Failure; Never Quit; Patient
- Physical: The radically successful apply the
correct disciplines necessary to maintain a well-functioning body, mind, and
spirit knowing the majority of this finite space and time is set up to break
down their body, mind, and spirit.
- EQ/GQ
Honorable.
Responsible; Self-Reliance – accept responsibility and are accountable; Self-Reliant; Integrity – honesty in everything
- Financial: As a created being with specific
gifts, talents, and resources assigned by The Divine, the radically successful
understand they are stewards in the highest calling of YHVH’s image, the wealth
of all that is Divine.
- IQ/EQ/GQ
Connected to Others.
Provide Value to Others; Sharp Focus on Playing the People Game; Connection – relate to others; Communication – listen to understand before attempting to be understood; Network
- Social: People matter. The radically successful know that no matter what words come out of a person’s mouth, the message is always, “Accept the person I am. Listen to me.”
- EQ
Radically Present.
Usually Relaxed and Maintain Perspective; Live in the Present Moment
- FUN!: Life does not exist in any other time and place than right here, right now. The radically successful embrace the fullness of life’s present moments with a vigor that inspires others.
- GQ
